Encore - Music Education for Social Change

Role: Co-Director, Co-Producer and Co-Editor alongside Bridget O'Hara, Matthew Ward, Kelsi Smith and Chris Lumsden

ENCOREMUSIC EDUCATION FOR SOCIAL CHANGE (2017) is a one-semester-long student-produced film project, of which I am the co-director, co-producer and co-editor. This documentary explores the theme of music education for students in Philadelphia during the funding crisis via the power of media technology. Music education, while widely undervalued and underestimated, has the potential to change the lives of young children throughout Philadelphia. ENCORE aims to highlight not only music education programs in Philadelphia, but also the children affected by these programs to explore the impacts music has had on their lives.
